How about a glossary? I came to this site to find out what was meant by "Mental Health Unit" which, confusingly, is also a synonym for "psychiatric hospital", but still from looking at the page on the Ministry of Justice Mental Health Unit I have no idea where this unit is located, who staffs it, and how on earth they manage to judge whether a patient on supervised discharge needs to be returned to hospital. How the hell is a government office supposed to decide on patients all around the country? Also the use of the word "caseworkers" at the top of the page. On Google it says a caseworker is synonymous with social worker. If so then put social worker. No one knows what a caseworker is. This question of what the Ministry of Justice Mental Health Unit is has me completely stuck. Jmac 11:59, 9 November 2007 (PST)
- Thank you for the feedback. I will try to expand and clarify that article soon, but for now here are some brief answers. The MoJ MHU is based in London. Because firms of solicitors also use the word "caseworker" I had assumed that its meaning was clear. It is not synonymous with social worker, and the MHU don't employ social workers. Caseworkers are just people who work on cases. In general they make their decisions having considered written reports received from the treating team and/or recommendations from the Mental Health Review Tribunal, and very occasionally a caseworker might attend a hospital meeting. I hope this helps. Jonathan 16:09, 11 November 2007 (PST)
- I've belatedly made some changes to the Ministry of Justice page to address your points. Feel free to add to the page, or amend anything which is still confusing. Jonathan 10:14, 23 February 2008 (PST)
When creating an account on wikimentalhealth the form asks for a 'christian' name, something which only christians would have. What about 'first name' instead?
